Founded in 1832 in what was then a barren wilderness by Irish monks
expelled from France in 1822, Mount Melleray is an imposing Cisterican Abbey.
The new abbey church was built in the Gothic style. The abbey guest house
provides hospitality for the needy, and is supported mainly by offerings from the
guests and visitors."
