This is a previously-owned, complete “Private Pilot Course” boxed-set manufactured by Sporty’s Video (catalog #B5257A). And, it may look like it is missing a set of tapes, but "Volume 4” is unique to the Recreational Pilot Course and is therefore omitted from the set. These step-by-step video lessons are better than ground school and help viewers prepare for flight lessons ahead of time (less time reviewing and more time learning). It features the following:

1) Your First Few Hours -- Everything you need to know to start on your first few lessons! Covers basic aerodynamics (lift, weight, thrust and drag), aircraft flight controls, aircraft systems (engine, electrical, fuel), preflight inspection, starting the engine, taxiing, takeoff, basic flight maneuvers and traffic patterns.

2) Practicing Landings -- Make your time spent in the landing pattern more productive. Introduces ground reference maneuvers, engine operation, angle-of-attack, p-factor, slipstream, gyroscopic precession, slow flight, stalls, normal and no-flap landings, crosswind takeoffs, slips, go-arounds and wake turbulence avoidance.

3) Your First Solo -- Be prepared for an aviation milestone -- your first flight without your instructor! Covers pre-solo maneuvers, steep turns, emergency procedures, basic weather (fog, thunderstorms, forecasts, reports and live weather briefings from FSS), the pitot-static system, stability and control, solo FARs and aeromedical factors.

4) Your Dual Cross Countries -- You're truly on your own now. Covers Air Traffic Control (ATIS, tower, approach control, transponders), magnetic compass errors, aircraft performance charts, maximum performance takeoffs and landings, clouds, wind shear, icing, basic IFR flying and FARs.

5) Your Solo Cross Countries -- Now that you have a few hours of solo time under your belt, it's time to leave your local airport. Presents night flying, reading and interpreting aeronautical charts, flight planning, VOR and ADF navigation, air masses and fronts, the cross-country flight and airspace.

6) Your Private Pilot Test -- A few more flights with your instructor, one or two solo flights and you'll soon be taking your FAA checkride! Covers FARs, weight and balance, computerized testing, the written and oral tests, a "sneak preview" of your flight test, night cross-countries and an introduction to high performance aircraft.

7) Finding the Best Flight Instruction (bonus)
