The original counterweight is removed, the new stub slides over and is screwed to the short black SME stub.

PLEASE NOTE that if your arm is at its lowest position and the flat sides of the mounting bedplate are in line
with the platter spindle, XTC may not be moved fully forward. XTC is bulkier and wider than the original counterweight,
and may touch the bias arm and the tall acorn nut nut which secures it.
This may occur with suspended decks with wide armboards like the Linn LP12 and Ariston RD11, possibly with the Thorens TD125.
I expect no problems with Garrard 301, 401, Thorens 124 and the suspended Thorens with small armboard.
S2 IMPROVED DETACHABLE HEADSHELL please contact me, this is a heavier arm requiring different weights.
THE DESIGN of XTC places its lowered Centre of Gravity within 1-2mm of the stylus tip, depending on your cartridge height.
This better matches the rotational forces imposed on the cartridge which should improve tracking.
Other dropped counterweights may manage to lower CG by up to 10mm.
Factor in the other masses, and overall CG reduces this to ~7mm which is some distance ABOVE the stylus.
XTC lowers CG by up to 16mm.

Tried out the counterweight last night. Amazing improvement over the stock CW in every way. Most noticeably, as they say so often,
a veil is lifted. Everything is less tentative. Bass coming through more solid, percussions have the final "ring" of the real things, more
depth and soundstage anchored more accurately. These are all preliminary impressions after a few hours of listening. I have no
