ant4854.  This is a early primitive, tin oil lamp bracket/holder, with an early glass oil lamp and burner.  It is quite unique with its 2 scallop-edged match holders on the sides.  The holder is 7 1/4" high with a hole for hanging on the wall.  It is made of an embossed design tin and has been painted black.  One of the match holders has some deterioration on the bottom (see pix).

The early glass oil lamp is 4 1/4" diameter and 5" to top of the burner, which accommodates a 3" chimney fitter size.  Thumbscrew says, "MB Co., NY., Pat. 1883".  The glass is slightly cloudy at bottom.  Round rim around middle allows the lamp to sit securely in the holder.  Very Good, strong and clean condition.
