Theoretically, these french "libération" emissions range  from the end of July 1944 to October 1945.
Four emissions were decreed by the Regional Commissioners of the Government, regular representatives of the State, then the Postal

Administration (PTT: Postes, télégraphes et téléphones) recognized, a posteriori, 11 emissions according to absolutely obscure criteria.
The list of official issues as well as the stamps making up each issue has never changed since its publication in 1945.
The official emissions recognized by the PTT Administration are: Aigurande, Bordeaux, Chalon sur Marne, Chamberry, Chatellerault, Cherbourg,

Decazeville, Loches, Lyon, Measme, Niort, Poitiers, Pons, Lille and Tours.
All other semi-official emissions are not recognized by the Postal Administration.

Although not recognized by the Administration, most of them were carried out under the supervision of the local administration.

Features "Libre" overprints on regular France issues, Lorraine Cross overprints, "R.F." (types I, II, III and IV), various overprints, types of characters (thin, thick), de Gaulle triptyques issues, provisional government, black script and departmental overprints, marginal patriotic texts, reversed overprint.
