Antique Jung Girls headdress from Nuristan.Very nice and very rare example of antique Nuristan Valley clothing. This is a very classic example of the textiles from Nuristan Valley, covered in finely worked embroidery, bead work, and covered in a slew of buttons that served as protective amulets. There is an exceptional fine band along the bottom with attached beadwork, above this there is a band that goes all the way around with a classic Nuristan Valley "tree of life" design, followed by a row of stars, then diamonds that would have also like served as protective amulets, then followed by another finely worked narrow band, again followed by a "tree of life design"
Height about 95 cm and width about 20 cm
Very good condition for a piece that is probably older that 80 ‚ 90 years.
