to military specs, these are a superb quality stainless steel protective cap with soft neoprene rubber insert designed to bayonet fit on to C type coaxial female connectors and help prevent damage / ingress of dirt etc. when a connector is not in use.
A chain is attached for fixing to the unit to stop the cap from being detached or lost when the connector is in use.
