This is a brand new Chrome plated Inox finish head kit suitable for many of the after-market electric aerials and antennas which have been retro fitted to Mercedes R107 SL models manufactured from approximately 1972 to 1989. If your top nut has become marked, tarnished or rust pitted this will help restore the appearance of your aerial antenna to as new condition. It is quality chromium plated item and can accommodate wing angles from 0° to approximately 35°. The top nut thread size is M12 x 0.75 (outside diameter of male thread on aerial neck is 12 mm) which was a widely used standard on most after-market replacement aerials fitted to many Mercedes including many of those branded from Autoleads, Beru, Durite, Elpico, Hella, Hirschmann, Maystar, Metra, Ring Automotive and other after-market electric aerials. The diameter of the internal opening, for the mast is just over 9 mm to accommodate a mast bottom section diameter of 9 mm and the external hexagonal nut accommodates a 17 mm socket or spanner.
PLEASE NOTE : It is not a suitable replacement for the factory fitted premium Hirschmann AUTA 6000 series aerial antennas as these had a larger thread size.
It consists of the fittings
which mount on the aerial above the wing or fender:
* Chrome Inox finish top Nut with internal (female thread)
* Chrome dome shaped bezel
* Hard Black Plastic domed fitting (base
diameter of 28 mm Ø *)
* Softer Black Plastic seal (diameter of 34
mm Ø *)
And the cast aluminium
fitting to adjust the angle which locates under the wing in case this is
needed. (These are better than pressed steel versions, which are prone to
rust).
