Following is verse text:
SOCCER PLAYER'S PRAYER
Dear Lord, help me remember that success
begins with a person's will,
and life's battles don't always go to the stronger
or faster skill.
Help me meet each game's test
with enthusiasm, always doing my best.
With each kickoff, help me remember
that teamwork is our best defense.
As the game gets rough and we run and kick,
help me keep going as the minutes tick.
When the Goal Net announces its final score
and the fans have ceased their cheering roar,
I thank You for this exciting sport
where victory is our final goal.
And even though one team will lose,
I'm always a winner deep in my soul.
Because although I'm only one person,
You've taught me that the one who wins
is the one who thinks "I can."
Amen.
