Yale Superior Series Euro Profile Cylinder Lock - Yale's Latest High Security Anti Snap Lock

There is no better reason for upgrading your lock than the Yale Superior cylinder lock series, designed to fit all standard European Profile Cylinder locks (such as those fitted to uPVC and some timber and aluminium doors). The Yale Superior cylinder offers superior resistance against all current known attack methods such as cylinder bumping, snapping, drilling and picking.

The Yale Superior cylinder lock carries the latest BS kite mark KM559658 with Secure By Design approved TS007:2014 1* Star rating and has been independently tested and meets the prestigious British Standard BS EN1303:2015.

One of the outstanding features is the Yale laser cut dimple key and because the horizontal keyway of a dimple lock are very small it makes insertion and use of traditional pick tools very difficult. If you are looking for superior security for your home, this is a great lock to choose.

How do I measure a door cylinder?

The size of cylinder you need is determined by the thickness of the door and handle combination, for this reason there are many sizes available and you will need to be careful that you measure the cylinder accurately (one size will not fit all). It is possible to measure a door cylinder in the door, but to be sure it's best to remove it first.

Your new door cylinder should protrude by no more than 5mm from the handle back plates. It is most sensible to go for exactly the same size as you are replacing (unless your old cylinder was protruding excessively).

Measurement A - Measure from one end of the cylinder to the middle of the central screw hole.

Measurement B - Measure from the other end to the middle of the central screw hole.

Now check your measurements:

Measure the overall cylinder length from end to end. The length of the cylinder should equal the sum of measurements (A) and (B) when added together.

For example: If measurement (A) = 45mm and measurement (B) = 50mm the size required would be 45/50 cylinder (95mm in length). No further measurements are required

Please note: These cylinders feature anti-snap security on both sides therefore ordering a 45/50 cylinder is the same as ordering a 50/45 cylinder.

How far should a door cylinder protrude out of the door handle?

Your new door cylinder should protrude between 2mm and 5mm from the handle back plates, but due to the overall lengths of cylinders available this is not always possible. It is most sensible to go for exactly the same size as you are replacing (unless your old cylinder was protruding excessively).

How do I fit a new door cylinder?

These easy to fit replacement Yale cylinders enhance the security of your door and can be fitted by a DIY novice in minutes!

1. Open the door and unscrew the one fixing screw which is located on the lock faceplate (the strip of metal the full length of your door), in line with the bottom of the door cylinder.
2. Put the key into one side whilst holding the other side firm.
3. Turn the key and the cylinder should slide out, if it does not turn the key in the opposite direction and the cylinder should slide out.
4. Take your new cylinder lock and insert the new key and turn it until the cam is inline with the body of the cylinder. Insert the new cylinder into position and replace the fixing screw.
5. If the door cylinder is offset (i.e. 40/60, 30/50 etc) ensure the off set is protruding from the correct side. Check the operation of the lock before you close the door.

This cylinder offers resistance to many types of attack. It is designed to be used in conjunction with 2 star security door hardware to ensure enhanced resistance to all commonly used attack methods. Therefore this product MUST be used in conjunction with 2 star security door hardware meeting TS007 to ensure maximum security and a 3 star rating.
