This sale is for a custom super-sized ferrite antenna and metal stand designed for the County Comm GP-5/SSB radio and this antenna may also be used for the Tecsun PL-360 and PL-365 radios. ****The radio is NOT included in this sale and is used in the pictures demonstrate how the antenna is utilized.****Also, be advised the antenna and the metal stand are not a County Comm product and are supplied by aftermarket manufacturers. They are not sold by County Comm and we offer them here on Ebay as accessories to enhance the County Comm radio. Please note that we do have both the radio and the antenna offered as a combined purchase item in a different listing in our Ebay store so that you can have the convenience of purchasing both at the same time and also enjoying some savings in shipping cost.

The metal stand is custom manufactured for us and is a great tool to keep the radio upright when attaching the wire shortwave antenna or when using with the super-sized ferrite. Without the stand, the radio is top-heavy and is easily tipped over on the table top. In using the metal stand, you can stabilize the radio and not worry about the radio falling over and potentially further falling to the floor.

The super-sized ferrite antenna was developed as an alternative to the ferrite antenna supplied by County Comm for their GP-5/SSB radio. The super-size ferrite antenna aids signal reception in the medium wave band measurably and will add to your enjoyment of mediumwave broadcast band listening. Here are the details of this high performance ferrite antenna:

Keep in mind that the improvement in sensitivity also means that it will pick up more RF in the household from LED/fluorescent lighting, TVs, Computers, appliances, etc so you will need to take care to remove the radio from proximity to these RF noise sources. If you live in an apartment, you may be affected by your neighbor's RF noise from lighting and appliances which are outside of your control. The alternative would be to take the radio and super ferrite antenna outside while you walk the dog or to a park for relaxing and listening.

In testing the antenna, we have found it to make a very noticeable difference over the supplied County Comm ferrite antenna. Stations that we did receive with the shorter supplied ferrite that were of poor quality, improved substantially so that we could hear those stations amazingly clearer and with much more pleasure. The AM ferrite connection can break internally and void the radio warranty. We have used this super ferrite on our personal radio for months without incident, but the risk of internal breakage/damage is higher with its usage and in purchasing this antenna you understand that you entirely assume the potential risk of damage from its use and the fact that such damage voids your radio warranty.***
Here on Ebay, we have offered and sold the highly regarded County Comm GP-5/SSB radio and others have sold the Tecsun PL-360 radio. The main difference between the two radios is that the GP-5/SSB offers the user access to decoding sideband radio signals often found on the amateur radio bands and also found with marine or air weather given on the shortwave bands....the PL-360 does not offer sideband, but otherwise is a good radio for shortwave listening.
