Röntgen. 32 pages First edition and unrecorded Deluxe Edition. Beautifully colour-printed by Edmund Evans at London, of one of the famous children's picture books by Henriette Willebeek Le Mair (1889-1966), a popular Dutch illustrator of children's books, popular in England and the United States as well. The book contains old Dutch nursery rhymes, set to music by a popular contemporary Dutch composer Julius Röntgen (1855-1932), director of the Amsterdam Conservatory. The book is in remarkable condition, the vellum covers are superb, silk ties still present, colour paste-on a little foxed. Inside some foxing to the first and last couple of pages, little or light elsewhere, all edges are gilt. An absolutely wonderfull original deluxe edition, in spectacular condition.
