it is very hard for us to date and describe this statue, we are not specialists - please do judge for yourself age and origin by having a close look at the pictures, but we belive this is:

a small, authentic antique, circa 10th - 13th century, bronze statue of a Hindu deity

made in India or, because of it's Dutch provenance, it might be of Indo Javanese origin

made by cire perdue  method / lost wax or sand casting

with wonderful details

it represents the Hindu deity

Infant Krishna as Balakrishna

dancing with butterball

modeled as a dancing young boy, standing in a dance movement, suggestive of his mischievous joy

with rounded belly and bare buttocks

in his right hand the stolen butterball, his left arm streched out,

in his left hand a stick-like object - only visible on the inside of his lower arm

he has beautiful ear ornaments

with his right foot on a serpent like animal - here seems a part of the tail missing - very old damage

as a whole standing on a throne or pedestal

height: 6,5 cm / circa 2.5 inch - weight: 75 gr.

condition: fair, beautiful patina, authentic wear - due to handling, touching and rubbing for many many years, no restoration
