The Berlin chair is designed to tilt the user forwards slightly, this is intended to improve posture and avoid pressure at the base of the spine. 

With any office chair it is always advisable to have ones hips higher than ones knees to prevent slouching. 

If you find the chair tilts forwards too much spacers at the rear of the mechanism plate can be removed, or re-located to the front. 

Whilst it may seem strange to lean forwards when you first use the chair it is worth persevering with, you should find it’s much better for your back in the long term.
