Genuine vintage socks, unsold shop stock, about half a century old, but unused and still in their original pairs.
One pair of vintage 1950s ankle length socks for little children.
The colour is ivory/cream.

Suitable for young girls or boys - babies or toddlers.

Wool and rayon mixture.

7 Dwarfs brand.

Made in England in the 1950s.
They were unsold shop stock from the 1950s, and have been in storage at the shop ever since.

The original shop price labels are still attached, with the pre-decimal price 1/6 (one shilling and sixpence).
Some of the socks also have a brand sticker as well - though unfortunately, some have lost their brand stickers over the last half-century or so.

Size
There is a choice of sizes, suitable for very young children.

These socks are marked with SOCK sizes - this is based on foot length (in inches), and is NOT the same as shoe sizes.

Here is a rough conversion guide, to help you choose the right size.
  • Sock size 5........................UK shoe size 2 - 3 (toddler size, age 18 months approx)
  • Sock size 4 1/2"................UK shoe size 1 (baby size, age 12 months approx)
  • Sock size 4"......................UK shoe size 0 (baby size, age 6 months approx)
Please remember that these are very old socks, and they are not as stretchy as modern ones.
They need to be handled with care, in view of their age.

Condition

Unused vintage garments.

These socks are half a century old, and if you wish to use them for anything except display, they will need to be hand-washed first.
Please bear in mind that they are already about 60 years old, so please don't expect them to last for long in normal use!

There is no damage visible, but there may be some faint marks from storage.
The price labels have been stapled to the socks.
The staples have rusted, and may leave small rust spots behind when they are removed.
Please see photographs.
