- An all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft, the P-40 Warhawk was first seen in October of 1938. Only the P-51 Mustang and the P-47 Thunderbolt saw a greater production run, and the P-40 remained on front line service with nearly every Allied military through the end of World War II. It was also a popular aircraft in China, first with the American pilots of the Flying Tigers and then with the Chinese themselves following the AVG disbandment. This newly tooled model from Hobby Master is a 1/72 scale, die cast replica of a P-40N Warhawk flown by Chiao Wu O, a Chinese pilot who destroyed four enemy aircraft with the 29th Fighter Squadron of the 5th Fighter Group. It features signature artwork (including a shark mouth nose), engraved panel lines, a rotating propeller, a glazed opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (with panel instrumentation and a removable pilot figure), full weapons complement, optional-position landing gear, authentic 1944 markings, and a mid-flight display stand. Measures approximately 5.5 in long with a 6.25 in wingspan.
