Description

This is an ORIGINAL lensatic compass of the type used by the U.S. Army prior to and during WWII. It comes with an ORIGINAL issue type waterproofed compass pouch with 1910 wire hanger for attachment to the pistol or cartridge belt. The compass, with a Parkerized coating is in very good condition and functional and is marked "U.S. Engineer Corps", rather than the marlings found on the WWII era compasses (See image below). The compass pouch is "transitional" with dark OD gimp with a light OD body and appears to without the waterproofing compound applied to the outside surfaces.  The pouch is also in very good condition (see images below). This is a true WWII veteran and a great and rare addition to a collection! The buyer will have my usual  five-day right of inspection and return privilege.
