Here is a vintage tin toy Marx Deluxe Dial Typewriter.   The tin typewriter measures about 11 1/2 inches long and is about 7 inches deep.  The dial stands about 7 inches high at the top.   I am unsure how the toy should work - but the dial turns however the cartridge does not move.   There are some scratches, dirt and other wear on the typewriter as well.    Please see pictures and ask any questions.
