Offering a vintage carved wood cannibal fork from Fiji. This is their style of carving including bits of Paua inlay.

The baton measures about 12.5" in length. I was told this special fork was for warring chiefs to eat their slain enemies. It is nicely carved, of solid heavy woodl.

The neck around the baton has an old braided rope for hanging the instrument up.

I am selling off items that belonged to my great aunt and have been in storage for many years. Recently, I came across boxes full of baskets and carvings from Africa and Asia and thereabouts. She traveled a lot and received gifts from people but since there are no notes or tags on the items and I know nothing about these things, I am just taking lots of photos and letting you decide if they are interesting or not.
