This book of poetry is hand-written from the author, William Butterfield, in the mid 1800s (c.1840 as some poems are dated). It is written in what was once a blank "album" - w/ eloquent dark green/blue cloth boards and gilt embossed decor/titling "Scriptural Album with Floral Illustrations". The hand-writing is poignant and the words, impassioned. This is a dear Keepsake from the 19th century human spirit and heart. Most poems are titled, "To Elizabeth"... it focuses on love, life and loss - birth/death in a beautiful perspective, some poems are signed, "William Butterfield"
The book/ablum is loose - dis/bound... yet all pages and material is present.
8vo. Pages un-numbered - approx. 60 pages.
VERY RARE AND VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
