The pendant measures 1 ¼” L x 1”W.

The thistle has been an important Scottish symbol for more than 500 years. The earliest recorded use of the thistle was perhaps its use on silver coins issued in 1470 during the reign of James III. From the early 16th century, it was incorporated into the Royal Arms of Scotland.

The legend tells of how an invading band of Vikings tried to attack a party of Scottish warriors under cover of darkness. To avoid noise the king ordered his band of Vikings to remove their footwear. Unfortunately, one of the attackers stood on the prickly thistle and shrieked in pain. The clansmen were alerted of the attack and Vikings were duly defeated by the Scots.

The pendant would make an ideal gift or a fine addition to your own jewelry collection.

How long will this take to arrive by mail?

I ship at least twice a week which means it may take from 0 to 3 days for me to mail your item after you pay. Some packages arrive faster than others. It all depends on where the trucks are, when cargo planes are departing and perhaps the alignment of the planets. Please be patient!

U.S. packages sent via First Class Mail take 3-6 days usually. Parcel Post packages usually take 4-10 days. Priority Mail is advertised as 2-3 days but has taken 4 before. Media Mail is super slow! Media Mail can take 3 days or 6 weeks(usually less than 2 weeks).

International packages sent via First Class Mail International (air mail) can take 2-6 weeks. Italy and Russia have been known to take 8-10 weeks depending on which parts of the country you live in. Priority Mail International is usually 6-10 business days but can take longer depending on location. Express Mail International is usually 1 week but can take longer depending on your location. Customs offices can create more delays for your items.
