This part is working 2nd IF audio board and it is in nice condition.  This is the later 2nd IF Audio board that had some revisions made by RL Drake to improve the product detector.  Early versions of the board utilized discrete components for the product detector used for SSB, CW, and RTTY.  A revision was made that then utilized signal diodes and transistors to detect the audio signal.  Finally, in the later version, as this one we are selling here on Ebay, Drake replaced the entire product detector circuit with a single integrated circuit using a Motorola MC1496 chip.  This circuit change gave the receive portion of the radio better dynamic audio range offering a noticeable improvement over the receive audio in earlier board versions.

These later boards are highly sought after by amateurs who want the best audio in their TR-7 and are willing to pay the difference over the earlier board.  They are not as easy to come by and command a higher price as a result.

Installation is simple as this is a true plug & play module and will snap into position in your TR-7 transceiver.  This board is one of the highest in demand for replacement boards for the TR-7 and the price is set in accordance with this demand and relative scarcity.
