This is an original WW1 Austrian small silver bravery medal, the obverse has the text "FRANZ JOSEPH I V.G.G. KAISER V. OESTERREICH" (Franz Joseph I, by the grace of God, Emperor of Austria) beneath the bust of the Kaiser is the name Tautenhayn the artisit who sculpted the image and on the reverse within a laurel wreath with crossed flags at the bottom, the words "DER / TAPFERKEIT" ( For Bravery ). It is marked with a small 'A' on the rim to indicate the silver content.

Unfortunately it is missing its suspension ring as evident in the photos.
