My Leica M5 is in very good used condition, and worked beautifully with both Summicron and Summilux lenses. The meter and the shutter timings all seem to work well.
When used with a 35mm Summicron all the frames appear in the viewfinder for some reason - it doesn't affect the functionality of the camera.
Also like other Leicas of similar age, there are a couple of spots where the Vulcanite cover has peeled or has been touched/repaired - please check the (almost) macro photos of the auction.
Of course you've done your homework if you're looking at this M Leica, so l'll just add that in my personal experience from Leitz II to M6, the grip/size of this camera, the heftiness (both physical and perceived, the excellent metering, the one finger activated over-sized shutter ring, the viewfinder with its meter needle, the shutter speed numerical reading and aperture range, the solid strap eyelets with vertical or horizontal strap configurations, and all the way to the securely located film winder arm and super easy film loading - this is by far the most advanced hand made Leica M out there, so don't miss this very nice specimen right here.
This auction is for the M5camera only, but I'm also selling my Summilux 50mm lens - please check my other auctions.
Collection or delivery within London welcome, otherwise insured shipping to the world.
Good luck!
