This is a small piece of bamboo - 4 1/2 inches high and about 3/4 inch in diameter at the base, which has been stained brown and cut out in the shape of a seated cat with a long neck and legs. His ears and features have been carved out and stained and he has a red bow tied around his neck.He may have been a gift container for something like a pen, which would fit in the hole in the back.  There's some wear on the face and on the finish of the body. There are chips around the base in the front. He is hand made and has some age.
