Description:  It is an authentic antique chromolithograph print approximately 148 years old from Owen Jones' The Grammar of Ornament, published in London by Bernard Quaritch, 15 Piccadilly, 1868. A facsimile copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The print was drawn on litho stones by Francis Bedford and printed by Day & Son. A chromolithograph simply means that a different stone was used for each color ranging from a few stones to 10 or 20 stones or more for the more complex prints. Sometimes metal plates are used in place of stones, but these are stated in the text as being stone lithographs, which are slightly rarer than the commercial litho process on plates. It is not matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as shown in the main pic photographed against a black background. It is a very beautiful print executed with precision and craftsmanship, a fine example of the English Arts and Crafts movement.
Size: The image area measures approximately 7 3/4 by 11 1/2 inches (20x29cm) on a page measuring 8 1/2 by 13" (21x33cm) as shown in the pic.
Condition: The print is in excellent condition, blank on reverse with stone lithographic color. It is very clean with no obvious defects to mention and would frame up nicely, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
