The Black / Silver Heavy Duty tarps are a heavy weight polyethylene, with an approximate weight of 270gsm. A tight 16 x 16 per sq inch weave count & chunky 12mm aluminium eyelets at 50cms intervals mean this tarpaulin is a tough cover which is more likely to stand up to the rigours of year round usage. Each corner is also fitted with a reinforcement patch.

- Waterproof 270gsm  16 x 16 mesh Heavy Weight Polyethylene

- UV Protected with a 18 month UV warranty, applicable to the UK only.

- Large 12mm aluminium eyelets every 50cm. Each corner has a corner reinforcement with 8mm eyelet.

- Still flexible in sub-zero temperatures.

- All sizes are finished sizes*

*This range of tarpaulins are manufactured to a FINISHED SIZE where there will only be approx 5cm manufacturing tolerance, please note many other tarpaulins are a cut size where there is up to 30cm shortage.

**We recommend using shock cord / bungees for fixing our tarps. For advice and further info, please see our FAQ's.

Our 270gsm tarpaulins are manufactured with a black top, which is hemmed over onto a silver underside. Although fabricated from a heavy weight polyethylene, these hardy covers remain manageable and easy to handle, and are fully waterproof. Popular as roofing covers, industrial covers, in agriculture, for groundsheets and boat tarps.

Like all our tarpaulins the material is waterproof and flexible in sub zero temperatures. There is also a 3% UV inhibitor in the polyethylene to ensure the material does not degrade prematurely due to the effects of the sun.

Our Carriers

We use third party carriers to deliver on our behalf. Currently we use Royal Mail, TNT, DPD and DX Courier and any deliveries large enough to be despatched on a pallet will be sent via the Parsons pallet network. All our carriers require a signature on delivery; however if nobody is in at the time of delivery our carriers will try and deliver to a neighbour. If you are likely to be out please leave delivery instructions when you order. The general delivery times for our carriers is 7:30am to 5:30pm although these hours are extended during busy periods; for example Christmas delivery times run up to 9pm. Therefore please ensure you leave any shipping notes where appropriate. This information will be passed to our carriers; however please note we can only operate within their terms and conditions, and hours of operation.

If our carriers cannot successfully deliver the goods to you a calling card will be left for you to respond to. If after a further unsuccessful attempt they still cannot deliver, the goods will be put on hold pending a response from the recipient; such instances may incur a 50% charge of the original delivery cost. Unretrieved goods will then be returned to us and a return/redelivery charge levied. Goods which may need re-delivering to a different address to that originally specified will also incur a redelivery charge.

As we use third party carriers we cannot be held responsible for any delays or non delivery of the products ordered. All delivery dates are entered into in good faith but are estimates only. No work should be undertaken until the goods have arrived.

Unfortunately there may be delays to deliveries during times of adverse weather. However please be assured that we will continue to endeavour to get your goods to you as quickly as possible.

Returns & Exchanges

All our products are guaranteed to be free from any defect at the time of purchase. If an item is found to be faulty upon receipt, we will refund or replace the product without charge. In such instances we will always request that an image of the fault is sent through first for us to assess; we have found that this is the quickest and most efficient way for us to resolve any customer issues.

In the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with any goods purchased or have changed your mind about the purchase, please inform us in writing (fax or e-mail is also satisfactory) within 14 days of receipt of the goods to arrange for their return. Any goods you wish to return must be unused and in their original packaging. Goods should be sent to:

Tarpaflex Ltd

The Granary
Northlew
Nr Okehampton
Devon
EX20 3BR

Please ensure that you request a Returns form from us, as we will need your contact details to initiate a refund or replacement. Once we have received the goods they will be inspected and the agreed course of action executed. The goods must be sent to us unused and in their original packaging. You should ensure there is sufficient outer packaging of the product to ensure safe and secure transit of the goods back to us, as the returned product must be 'as new' and in a resellable condition. It is the responsibility of the buyer to safely return the goods back to us. Credits or replacements will not be issued until goods are received and signed for by one of our staff members.

Please note: original carriage costs will only be refunded if goods are faulty or differ from what was advertised. If you would like us to organise for the goods to be returned please contact us to arrange this; the return carriage costs will then be deducted from any refund due.

In the event of unwanted goods being returned, Tarpaflex reserve the right to levy a restocking fee; you will of course be informed of this before your refund is processed. A fee will also be levied on any goods requiring repacking; please contact us for further details.

Please see below for responses to some of our most frequently asked questions and queries.

Can you manufacture made to measure covers?
No. However if your requirement is on a large scale we can order particular sizes from our suppliers in the Far East. We work on a minimum 4 month lead time, and minimum quantities will apply; please contact us for details. For immediate requirements we can supply you with UK companies who specialise in bespoke covers; details will be passed on upon request.

Why is there a seam on my cover?
Most tarps need a seam as it is impossible to fabricate a tarpaulin without heat sealing several pieces of polyethylene together. A seam may not be necessary on some of the smaller sizes as they can be fabricated from one piece of material. This also applies to dust sheets where a seam is stitched.

Do you offer a guarantee to the lifespan of your tarpaulins?
No. As all of our tarpaulins are subject to varying weather conditions and put to so many different uses we cannot guarantee the length of time they will last. Generally speaking a heavier grade tarpaulin is more likely to last longer than an economy grade tarp, which we recommend for temporary use only. To maximize the lifespan of your tarpaulin we recommend to securely fasten your cover.

Please bear in mind that eyelets can also come under a lot of pressure, and so any stress points should be reinforced. While the material a tarp is made from may be heavy duty, no such guarantee is given to the eyelets. Fixing additional eyelets can help spread the load. Please also avoid any sharp edges and constant friction which can reduce the lifespan of your cover.

What size are the eyelets? Are they on all four sides of the tarpaulin?
The standard inside diameter on the majority of our tarpaulin eyelets is approximately 12mm. However, eyelets on the Black/Silver Super Tarpaflex Plus and Olive Green PVC Tarpaulins are currently 20mm.
Eyelets are on all 4 corners and spaced all around the hemmed edges. On a tarpaulin with riveted corner patches, you can expect the inside diameter to be approx 8mm.

The outline eyeholes on scaffold sheeting are approx 15mm in diameter.
Additional eyelets in both 12mm and 20mm diameters are available for purchase from our Accessories section.

How long until I receive my order?
Please see delivery information on the Delivery page for full details. In summary, standard orders are up to 3-5 working days from date of order. Next working day service is available for a surcharge; however our cut off time is 2pm for parcel deliveries.

How can I cancel my order?
By simply phoning 01409 221192 and speaking to one of our friendly sales representatives.

Do Tarpaflex Tarpaulins stand up to windy conditions? What is the best way to secure a tarpaulin?
Yes. However it is essential that the tarp is tied down properly; if it is not it may tear and the eyelets may fall out.Tarpaflex therefore cannot be held responsible for weather related damage to tarpaulins. We always recommend using bungee cords wherever possible; these are available for purchase in the 'Accessories' section. We also recommend lashing rope over the top of the tarp and item being covered, to ensure that it cannot flap around. Furthermore, eyelets are provided as an aid to securing the tarp - they are not designed to have pressure applied to them by ratchet straps or any other misuse. We strongly recommend the use of extra eyelets.

Are Tarpaulins-togo Tarpaulins guaranteed?
Yes they are. All our products are guaranteed waterproof & free from defect at the time of purchase. Therefore if your tarp has a defect due to a manufacturing fault, we will replace the item free of charge. We will always request a digital photograph of the fault - this can be emailed to us. Our warranty does not cover for usage even if eyelets or the tarpaulin rips within 24 hours of purchase. Tarpaflex will not accept any responsibility for the misuse of our tarps for warranty claims.

The Tarpaflex tarpaulin I received is shorter by 14cms than the size stated - please explain cut size.

Cut size is the industry’s standard way to manufacture tarps. When an importer in the UK or any other part of the world purchases tarpaulins from the manufacturers in the Far East, we purchase the cloth for a tarp which is say 4m x 5m - this is the cut size. This material, being 4m x 5m, is then made into a tarpaulin. However, by making and bevelling over the hems and adding eyelets this reduces the final size of the tarp by up to 30cms, for example giving a finished size of 3m 70cms x 4m 70cms.

How do I determine the quality of a Tarpaulin purchased by weight?
Tarpaflex sells tarpaulins by weight. Poly tarps, being made from a plastic raw material, are an oil based commodity - therefore you should focus on the weight in GSM (Grams per Sq Metre) when purchasing any tarpaulin.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and Cheques.
