Operation Freshman cover signed Hedley Duckworth

JS(AC)68c dual numbered AF9 for the 50th anniversary of Operation 'Freshman' in November 1942 where two RAF Handley Page Halifaxes towing two horsa gliders made a drop on the Germany heavy water plant in Norway - unfortunately due to conditions and equipment failures the drop zone was missed, with both gliders crashing and the lost of one of the Halifaxes. To make matters worse the Germans shot or posioned all those captured.

This cover has been signed by Heldey Duckworth, the Flight Engineer of the only Halifax to make it home safely from the operation.

Official special, numbered and certified on reverse.
