Manufactured by NSF to military specifications these are a premium quality old style stacked wafer rotary switch, with silver plated contacts.
They were spare parts for Marconi military attenuator sets.2 pole 17 ways (make before brake)
Behind panel dimensions are roughly 30mm long x 45mm across, and the control shaft is standard 6.3mm diameter, and approximately 9mm long, plus the mounting bush (10mm deep) which requires a 10mm hole for mounting.
