Collection de Céramiques Françaises, Verreries et Documentations
(French Ceramics, Glass and Documents) from Villa Clara Schumann, Francfort

Sotheby's Paris

December 16 2005

This is a fabulous, informative and beautifully illustrated catalogue for the sale of an extremely important collection of French ceramics and glass Art Nouveau and Art Deco. An outstanding reference book, this extremely hard to find volume is an absolute must for collectors, dealers and students of 20th century European ceramics and glass. I once found a copy advertised for sale on ABE for $450 USD.

The catalogue features no fewer than 523 high quality lots over 300 pages.

All lots are illustrated in colour and accompanied by text in French and English. There are also numerous archive photographs and short biographies of designers in both languages. The estimates for each item are given in Euros and USD$.

Payment and Postage

Paypal is accepted and I do not add a surcharge to cover their fees. UK buyers only may also pay by cheque or postal order. If it's a cheque, please allow 7 to 10 days for it to clear. In exceptional circumstances it may be possible to pay by other means such as bank transfer by arrangement.

All buyers please make contact within 3 days of auction. Payment is required within 7 days.

Non-payment

All non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. It's hard enough to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder.

Condition of items

Please note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique items and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs.

Vintage electrical items

Unless clearly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are sold in their original condition so should be safety checked by an electrician before use.

Returns

Returns are possible, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason.
