OLD FAITHFUL GEYSER, YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK - 1915 Mentor Gravure
This is an original 1915 intaglio-gravure print. This print has a description on reverse (not shown).
This
print is from a 1915 issue of The
Mentor magazine. The
Mentor is the name of a magazine first published in 1913 (thru
1931) by The Mentor Association, "Established for the Development of a
Popular Interest in Art, Literature, Science, History, Nature and Travel".
The Mentor Library was vast and covered a wide range of interesting topics. Many
of the covers themselves (especially the later color ones) are all very artistic
and fine works of art, and are highly collectible! Each issue contained an
article about a specific subject and several (4-6) tipped-in individual
intaglio-gravures (either sepia-toned or [rarely] full color) as representative
samples of the topics.
My
inventory includes both sepia-toned and color gravures, the magazine covers, and
full issues for many years and topics.
Print has a full-page historical monograph on the back.
