Platoon is a 1986 American war film written and directed by Oliver Stone, starring Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, Charlie Sheen, Keith David, Kevin Dillon, John C. McGinley, Forest Whitaker, and Johnny Depp. It is the first film of a trilogy of Vietnam War films directed by Stone, followed by Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Heaven & Earth (1993). The film, based on Stone's experience from the war, follows a U.S. Army volunteer (Sheen) serving in Vietnam while his Platoon Sergeant and his Squad Leader (Berenger and Dafoe) argue over the morality in the platoon and the conduct of the war.

This particular Laserdisc:
Was acquired from the estate of a private collector and movie aficionado who was the original first owner, purchasing most of his Laser discs in the 1990's, from stores local to Warsaw, Indiana. A few have the original price stickers on them as shown in the photos. They appear to be cherished items and very well taken care of. In cataloging them in prepare for sale, I have dusted outside covers, inspected each disc for quality and condition, and then stored each one in archival quality plastic sleeves and storage boxes to await shipment to their new owners.
Quality:
Normally All Videos are Tested for Play-ability before shipping, but I do not currently have a laserdisc player to do this, so I have put them all through an extensive visual inspection and high resolution photos are available of most disc surfaces. We store and ship all Laserdiscs in high quality collector archival grade protective plastic sleeves to minimize damage or wear in storage and shipping.
Safe Shipping:
All shipments of Laserdiscs are packed in custom manufactured boxes, made to fit 12" media like laserdiscs and music LPs. These boxes, the extra padding we include, and the care in which we pack them, are able to withstand most shipping conditions and insure that you receive a working and great condition Laserdisc.
Condition Ratings:
If we rate the condition of any product, as we are not qualified grading experts, we will usually rate an item as average or below average condition, or at least slightly below what we think the condition actually is to minimize your expectations and hopefully over deliver on quality. We try in all cases to maximize the number (usually 12 photos) and quality of product pictures so that you the buyer, who are most likely more expert on understanding the grade and condition of these items, can make an informed assessment before purchase.
