This kit contains almost everything you need to complete this project, including beautiful hand dyed fabric from Starr Design Fabrics, batik fabric, fusible fleece (instead of batting), and even backing fabric! You will still need fusible web and thread. Having all this in the kit saves you time and money. Less running around to get supplies means you can get right to sewing. There is no curved piecing. There is some free motion stitching for the trees and the irises. The batik fabric (there's only one) may vary from the photo, but will have the same overall look. For thread, I used two purples, two greens, teal, yellow, and light blue. A regular school glue stick is very helpful also, the purple kind is fine. This design is inspired by the woods around our house in Fairbanks, Alaska. The woods in early summer are still a vivid green when the wild irises start to bloom, bringing even more color to the landscape.
