Exquisite length of hard to find 19thc silk brocade/jacquard. An incredibly beautiful epic large scale laurel floral wreath and torch pattern. The old hues are outstanding done in citrus yellows and greens. The ground is tannish. I feel the early dyes are naturally made.
Though strong and stable for being earlier silk, this textile will have a more of overall aged patina.
There will be some random speckles and aging to the ground area, areas of discoloration off to the outer edge (I'd say within the 1st 3-4 inches). Again the aging will be random not throughout this entire length. The ground tone & overall pattern does hide it fairly well and it retains an elegant essence. However, it's overall nuance will be very early old world French faded grandeur or shabby French in it's appeal. It will not be in any way pristine. So is very suited for projects and designs that warrant this overall marvelous time spent nuance.
Safely 1850's/1860's time frame though my hunch is could be earlier.
A truly incredible piece of it's period that will be amazing given a new purpose as so many of these earlier French silks have not survived. This one is an excellent example of it's period.
**Measures 35" wide by 25" long ~ I can keep your length selected uncut, so for example a quantity of "2" selected would be 35" wide by 50" long etc..

Many thanks!

I sell antique and vintage fabric. Each textile is different; some possibly used, some unused. I will give you my best assessment. I do not always launder them nor do I know all their history, how they have been stored over time etc.. I have a 30+ year long &  extensive knowledge of textiles and gauge age ranges; fiber content etc.. to the best of my ability. As always please view all photos, dimensions etc.. as they are part of the description. Please keep in mind that I provide the best photos possible but monitors do vary. If my eyes should miss a small flaw, please know it is not intentional. I am always available and happy to answer any inquiries so always please ask if I have not addressed something that may be important to you.

I do combine shipping whenever possible. If you are an international buyer or purchasing multiple pieces, please wait for my personal invoice as ebay's auto. combined invoices are rarely accurate. You can do this by either messaging me or using the drop down button that says "request total from seller" after your purchase but prior to paypal checkout. Again, if you have any questions, please message me.
