CIVIL WAR Scenes Engraving
BLOW-OUT OF LESS THAN PERFECT (but not by much) CIVIL WAR PRINTS
This wood
engraving is 125+ years old.
It is from "Frank Leslie's ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE CIVIL WAR"
(1895).
This is a single (1) two-sided wood engraving with both sides shown
The weird patterns in the pictures are picture artifacts NOT in the actual print for sale
Page is approx. 11 X 15"
SIDE
1: Going into camp at Stafford's Store, VA (close at bottom edge)
SIDE
2: Admiral John A. Winslow & Generals Oliver O. Howard and John Pope
All sides/bottoms may not be fully
shown in the pictures. Print has full margins.
These engravings are in good condition, but have some small defects: the edges may have age toning, a few spots and scuffs, smudges, minor fold or crease, very minor edge cuts -- mostly minor aging & handling faults. See photo(s)
This is an original 1895 engraving, not a modern reproduction, from the original Leslie wood blocks used in the weekly newspaper.
These wood prints were based on artist's sketches made at the scene during the Civil War.
These engravings are just beautifully detailed. Note: The pictures can introduce some weird patterns not in the actual prints.
The print is on double-sided paper
The pictures do not capture all of the detail in the engravings.
