This is a rare ticket envelope and ticket stub from the December 15th, 1956 matinee performance of the Original Broadway production of the LILLIAN HELLMAN, LEONARD BERNSTEIN and RICHARD WILBUR musical "CANDIDE" at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City. (The production opened December 1st, 1956 and closed after only 73 performances.) ..... DETAILS: This rare Martin Beck Theatre ticket envelope measures 4 1/4" X 2 1/2" inches and has advertising for Sam Goody Record Strores on both the front and backsides. The December 15th, 1956 ticket stub measures approx. 1 1/2" X 1 3/4" inches ..... CONDITION: With the exception of handwritten details on the front of the envelope and slight discoloration on the backside  and two tiny staple holes in the ticket stub, this rare set is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
