This is a rare advertising herald (flyer) promoting the Original Broadway production of the CLAYTON ASHLEY, STANLEY ADAMS, FRED SPIELMAN and ARTHUR GERSHWIN musical "A LADY SAYS YES" at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City. (The production was titled "A LADY OF ?" during the out-of-town tryouts, but was retitled "A LADY SAYS YES" prior to opening January 10th, 1945 at the Broadhurst Theatre where it survived for only 87 performances.) ..... The musical starred CAROLE LANDIS, SUE RYAN and CHRISTINE AYRES and featured ARTHUR MAXWELL, JACQUELINE SUSANN, MARTHA KING, PITTMAN CORRY, TATIANA GRANTZEVA, STEVE MILLS, EARL McDONALD, AL KLEIN and JACK ALBERTSON ..... Side Note: ARTHUR GERSHWIN (1900-1981) was the younger brother of George and Ira Gershwin. This was his only Broadway credit. JACQUELINE SUSANN (1918-1974) is best known for her controversial novels, most notably "Valley of the Dolls", but started her career as an actress, appearing in seven Broadway plays and musicals between 1936 and 1945 ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a light fold across the middle and minor edge wear, this rare flyer is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
