👒 SABLE TRIMMED LADIES SATIN BROCADE CAPULET FUR BUMPER HAT ANTIQUE 40's WITH BACK BOW
Up for your consideration is this really nice antique Sable trimmed Capulet, with a beige "folded" and patterned shiny brocade material with a rear facing bow. The style is sleek and is sort of flat (level with the trim) at the front but it has some rise going towards the back. It appears to be custom (hand) sewn. One end of the fur trim needs some TLC as a few threads have come loose. There is a "ribbon" label at the rear with the name Mabel Ann Ernst handwritten in script with a blue ink. She was born in a suburb north of Chicago in Feb of 1896 and was in census records each decade from 1900 through to the 1940 census. Based on what information we could find we believe this is from the 1940's or older and is very likely red sable - she was well-to-do, and in an "old Money" neighborhood of the suburbs - but (disclaimer) we don't know that with "absolute certainty", just an educated guess on our part. Also one of the 4 rhinestones is missing from inside the headband. Please be sure to see the other items we have listed.
