Gorgeous length of rarer to find double sided ribbed silk in a marvelous two tone palette of chartreuse and a blush apricot peach. A slender old silk that measures 11 3/4" wide.
It has an overall more aged patina with small speckles and larger stains, random on this long panel I am working with. So will not be pristine in any way but does have a lot of good areas as well.
It is an ideal textile for those of you that desire the authentic time spent aging so will not be for anyone destining a pristine textile.
It is marvelous old French silk, tiny ribbing. The hues are fabulous and very desirable in early projects.
Denser silk but soft, elegant & pliable and easy to work with.
I see this used in costuming, millinery as well as corsets, period doll dressing & bodice pieces, boudoir items etc.
Again, a rarer French silk so quite a marvelous find stored away for many years which makes it very special. Circa latter 19thc to aprox 1900 or so.
**Condition is unused however, aged as stated so sold as found, please view all photos. There is a strong fold line in the center.
The aging may launder but will leave that up to your discretion.
This can also be overplayed with lace or embellished beautifully with ornamentation.
**Measures ~ aprox 11 3/4" wide by 1 yard long. I can keep your length selected uncut.
