Inscribed by the author to prominent Freemason Albert Pike. On the title page there is a purple ink stamp indicating this was removed from the Scottish Rite's Southern Jurisdiction institutional collection. The stamp also appears in another location in the book. Albert Pike was the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite's Southern Jurisdiction from 1859 until his death in 1891.

Octavo, 198 pages, period three quarter leather over marbled boards. Illustrated with frontispiece and four fold out plates in the rear. Text in Italian. Front board detached, top of spine with a piece missing. Offsetting and discoloration from what appears to have been the removal of a bookplate. Some light foxing, rubbing and wear, else in good condition.
