The Original 1954 movie was an American 3D monster horror film.
The Creature, The Gill Man was played by Benjamin F. Chapman, Jr.
on land and Ricou Browning played the creature under water. The
audience wore viewers similar to the modern 3D glasses for the
premiere and early viewings of the movie, after that it was shown
in flat 2D. It was a high budget film with a B budget story line that
created more popularity long after the film stopped rolling than it
did when it originally played in theaters.
