A native thrush (Turdus poliocephalus) is depicted on this 10-cent stamp issued by Christmas Island on June 14, 1982.

A remote speck of land in the Indian Ocean, Christmas Island lies about 230 miles off the coast of Java, and 1,630 miles north of Australia. Its 52 sqaure miles of area are actually the Peak of a limestone mountain that rises from the Ocean flloor.
