RARE POLISHED CAMPBELLITE OBELISK - 9.2 cm / 3.6 inches - BISBEE, ARIZONA

Campbellite is a gemstone name given to a material that comes specifically from the Campbell Mine in Bisbee. It is a mix of minerals that may include in varying proportions calcite, cuprite, copper and malachite. Mining operations in Bisbee have been shut down for more than 40 years, so no new campbellite has been extracted for a very long time.

The specimen we offer is a cabinet size obelisk shaped slab that is polished with a matte finish; not shiny. It features flowing patterns of bright red cuprite and native copper in calcite with accents of the green malachite. The bright colors make it a striking specimen.
