Mystery LP pickguard
In 2003 I received a huge lot of Gibson parts from a contact I had at that time in the Gibson Custom Shop. Some of his personal collection was mixed in. This guard is a bit of a mystery to me....I am not sure if it is old or new. It shows some either shelf wear or player wear. There are a couple wavy spots in the bevel....this might have been a Custom Shop template or blem. But it is still a really cool guard with a wide bevel and rare 4 ply white - black - white -black construction. It also seems to be a rare size with the portion that sticks up between the pickups at one and 15/16ths.
The neck pickup opening is two inches, which is a little wider than normal.
