The Pentax O-WP1 is a durable transparent polycarbonate housing for the Pentax Optio S40. The housing is suitable for diving, snorkeling or surfing. The O-WP1 is also useful for activities that call for protection from the elements such as skiing, fishing, sailing, or even in certain industrial situations.
This housing gives you access to all camera functions and is rated for depths up to 131' (40m).
The housing allows underwater photos to be taken using the built-in flash of the camera. However, an External Strobe is recommended to improve the images by reducing the illumination of particles suspended in the water. Slaved external strobes like those made by Sea & Sea, Ikelite or Sunpak can be used to provide proper lighting.
