Legend of the SPIDER!

Eastern European lore tells the story of the “Christmas Spider”: Young children in a family went to sleep very sad with no Christmas tree or ornaments, only a sparse tree that was outside their door that they planted from a pinecone. On Christmas Eve, the children were crying because they had no way to decorate the tree. That evening, the spiders in the house all got together and decorated the tree with fancy webs and designs —-to the joy of the children on Christmas morning!...so tells the story of the Christmas spider. This was considered good luck to have on your tree.
