The neoclassical revival style building was built between 1930-1933 designed by Frank Upman, Gilbert LaCoste Rodier, Nathan C. Wyeth and Louis Justemente [Allied Architects of Washington]/ In 1962 the building was renamed the Longworth House Office Building after late Speaker Nicholas Longworth, who authorized the building during his term as speaker.
