Gorgeous of length of vintage English interiors cotton fabric. A very old fashioned romantic trailing roses pattern.

The hues are marvelous. Lavenders, purples, orchid pink, a green gray, teal olive, slate blue etc..The ground is more whitish than a cream. There is a lovely subtle soft gray vermicular design to the ground often seen in 19thc textiles.

Mid density textile, furnishings weight, A most wonderful find. It evokes a most perfect romantic English country house feel.
I have tried to research this fabric as the only marking reads "the Swainson". 

I believe this textile may have been inspired by early 19thc printer Charles Swainson of Bannister Hall Printworks which operated in Preston, Lancashire England. Manufacturers of floral chintz and glazed cottons in the early 19thc. 

The selvage markings are very similar to textile markings from the 1930's (both French & English). The subtle ground pattern again was used both in the 19thc as well as in the 30's again in French & English textiles seen from those periods (revivals of earlier 19thc  textiles). Safely, I will date this lovely textile at about mid century/1950's time frame though may be a bit earlier.

 It is in amazing unused condition and very well maintained through the years.
 Lovely for home pieces as well as clothing elements, bags, patchwork etc..Could also be used for decorative type small upholstery such as  chair back or small stool/bench/ottoman. Covered boxes and such would be marvelous in this as well. Also a marvelous piece to add to a collection.
