Lobelia is a great annual that will grow in almost any garden zone and at almost any time of the year (except under a pile of snow).
Lobelia’s are wonderful little annuals with striking flowers. They can contrast or complement your planting schemes without too much fuss. They don’t require much fertiliser, maybe just an application of a liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks through their flowering period, and regular watering are all they require. You don’t need to deadhead or prune them and they will reward you constantly for your lack of effort.

Germination:
Lobelia is one of these plants you can sow almost all year round because of its long blooming period
Use a sterilized packaged soil mix, then sow seed as thinly as possible in cell packs or flats, pressing lightly into soil but do not cover. Kept at 70° F., germination averages 20 days. Transplant in small clumps of seedlings, after all danger of frost, 6 inches apart.
