VINTAGE 1910 RISQUE/COMEDY FOOTBALL POSTCARDS BY COLONIAL ART PRE WWI LOT OF 2
Sent 110 years ago.
Well preserved (one of the two) post cards from 1910. (Was part of estate sale where all other post cards dated 1904-1919).
These RARE original postcards are from a set of 8 comedy/risque postcards with a football theme. The ones for sale here are TOUCHDOWN and SCRIMMAGE. Touchdown depicts a woman supposedly tackled by a man, both kissing each other.
Scrimmage shows two men and two women kissing on the ground.
These were considered romance cards.
The Touchdown postcard is awesome for the sentiment, written by a woman to a man, says, "I think a touchdown would be alright, John..."
It is postmarked St. Paul, MN September 17, 1910 with a cancelled one cent Franklin stamp.
The Scrimmage postcard must have been mounted in an album for the sentiment/postage side shows damage from tape. This postcard was unused.
Touchdown postcard is in great condition with no stains, holes, tears or creases.
